On January 31, 2003 the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors held a Benefit Concert at the Berkeley Community Theater. It was a night to remember!

The day began with a press conference with statements from CCCO staffmember Mario Hardy, CCCO Board member Ibrahim Malik Abdil Mu-id, and several performers including Ani Difranco, Michael Franti, Brian Hardgroove and Saul Williams.

Seated from the left: Mario Hardy, Brian Hardgroove, Saul Williams, Ani Difranco and Ibrahim Malik Abdil Mu-id.

The concert began at 8pm to a full house of well over 3,000 supporters. Chuck D & Fine Arts Militia started things off, followed by Ozomatli, Saul Williams, Ani Difranco and then Michael Franti & Spearhead.

Michael Franti sings 'You can bomb the world to pieces but you can't bomb the world to peace".

Full coverage of this wonderful event can be found on AWOL Magazine.
