BLK SONSHINE

Blk Sonshine are Neo Muyanga and Masauko Chipembere. These two brothers met in Johannesburg, South Africa. Masauko is from Malawi but was raised in L.A. while his parents were in exile. Neo Muyanga grew up in Soweto. The two met at an open mic in Johannesburg called Monday Blues in 1996 and have been performing and recording ever since. They chose the name Blk Sonshine because they see themselves as black sons of the African continent and their ancestors, shining through music. Their music owes no allegiance to any one genre but is the confluence of all their experinces from South Central Los Angeles to Soweto.

'Building' appears on the AWOL Volume 2 CD at track #8.
